Easy Trace
is an advanced raster to vector conversion software for automated / manual
mapping digitizing to handle wide variety of map types, GIS data capture
and CAD drawing conversion applications.
Easy Trace provides
a complete set of editing tools that allows the repairing of errors or
distortions introduced in the scanning process or defects existed in the
hardcopy source, and thereby prepare raster for vectorization, control
point selection and supports most commonly vector formats, such as DXF(AutoCad),
DGN (InterGraph), GEN (ArcInfo), MIF (MapInfo), SHP (ArcView), ASC (WinGis),
Top (Credo), CSV and some others.
Easy Trace also
provides many advanced image processing functions, such as unsupervised
color classification, greyscale image background removal, image warp or
rubber sheeting, image geo-referencing, image editing and many more.
Easy Trace
features
Raster
processing
Raster to vector
conversion of truecolor and index raster images in their initial form or
with preliminary separation into color layers. Processing color-separated
rasters you may both open several raster substrates and vector entities
simultaneously or change them quickly in the project.
Background rasters
loading: you may start processing vector information without waiting for
the complete rasters loading. The maximal size of each raster file can
exceed 2Gb.
Scanning directly
under Easy Trace shell. It is possible to use any available scanners including
those of small formats.
Complete preparation
of raster fragments for their further vectorization: rotation, merging,
noise filtration, alignment, cropping, etc. The program supports Undo function
to operate rasters.
The image warp and
registration function has added options to use either bi-linear or triangulation
for more accurate image geometric transformation based on control point
selection. Other image processing functions include color image classification,
geo-referencing, dark background removal, despeckle and segmentation. Geo-referencing
applying piece-projective, affine and square types of transformation. Integrated
transformation means reduce non-linear distortions introduced in the scanning
process or defects existed in the hardcopy source.

Image fusion function. The new image mosaic function provides
a simple layout interface for creating a seamless mosaic image from
multiple sub images. Most image types, including 1-bit monochrome, 8-bit
greyscale and 8 or 24-bit color images are supported. Users with small
format scanners can now scan smaller sections and merge them together
for vectorization and other processing.

Vectorization.
Automatic tracing
of separate objects with full interactive vectorization control. In combination
with a powerful editor of vector entities this feature allows processing
raster images of any quality and of any complexity level.
Two tracing modes
- Center Line and Outline - are introduced. Tracing of lines of any type
(curvilinear, dashed, dot, orthogonal) is possible. The automatic outlining
of hatched and filled areas.
Automatic tracing
of selected raster layers. You may select the type of precision and that
of the objects being traced: lines, polygons as well as filtration modes.
Digitizing of circles and rectangles by a single mouse click.
Polyline ends merging
within the specified radius. Errors check-up is carried out according to
several criteria: different width, lack of coincidence of Z-coordinate
or attributes, different thematic layers.
Vectorization of
3D-polylines with their height in each point.
Filtration, smoothing
and optimization of line forms while vectorization or later while editing.
Semiautomatic Z-coordinate
assignment to polylines.
Creation and support
of a complicated hierarchical structure of project layers. Allocation of
vector objects to layers depending on the logical character of these objects.
Correct topological
structure of graphic data creation considering the requirements of the
target GIS (CAD). The automatic generation of nodes or vertices at lines
crossing points. Easiness of duplicating of coincident vector segments
from one layer to another, automatic closing of polygons.
Topology
editor
Editing
of node points location. Node transfer automatically changes the location
of all the polyline ends forming the node.
Editing of common
vertices formed by two or more lines. The location of all the points forming
a common vertex is traced automatically.
The object disappears
automatically at deleting last vertices, for example, a line consisting
of one point or contour with three vertices.
Topology
check-up
Test for self- and
cross intersections of polylines, unclosed polygons, hang and pseudo-nodes,
etc.
Check the correctness
of information input supporting the special linetypes and library of conventional
signs (blocks) that make this process easier.
Connection
with database and the target GIS
Definition a of
the database structure of DBF format separately for point and linear objects
for each layer. Linking Easy Trace vector object to a database through
user-defined object identifiers.
Filling in databases
at any moment of vectorization.
Automatic transfer
of Z-coordinate of polylines into a database.
Check vector and
attributive data integrity while vectorization.
Export and import
of vector information into the most widely-spread GIS and CAD - AutoCAD,
ArcCAD, Arc/Info, Intergraph, MapInfo, CREDO, etc., using specific and
standard formats.
User
interface
Switching on/off
rasters under the specified point.
Hand tool is intended
for arbitrary moving throughout the project field.
The Navigator (bird
eye view) window has been added to show the current location and zoom level
for each image displayed and processed. The Project Navigator window can
be used to quickly scroll the image to a specific location.
Special elements
of numeric fields editing help to comprehend the essence of the given parameter
and to uniquely specify the units of measurement and the range of value
change.
Tutorial
system
7.5
Pro version of Easy Trace is provided with tutorial system.
Tutorial System
will help you to get acquainted with raster to vector conversion and the
main Easy Trace functions very quickly. All the lectures represent usual
program sessions. The difference consists only in some restrictions of
moving the cursor and availability of windows with the comments illustrating
what is going on at the moment.
Recommended screen
resolution for lessons viewing is 1024x768. For correct Tutorial System
operation do not modify files in Tutor directory.
Tutorial lessons run approximately
30 min in default mode.
Tutorial system
is accomodated with voice support.
